Make sure you don’t miss a thing at the Wild Turkey Festival
This weekend is Vinton County’s annual Wild Turkey Festival, and we’ll be bringing you coverage all weekend.
The festival gets under way tonight, with the Chamber of Commerce’s Wild Turkey Contest. Decorated turkeys will be on display from 5 to 7 at the Community Building. Attendees can enjoy a turkey noodle dinner, as well as vote on their favorite decorated turkey and even place bids in the silent auction.
The festival officially kicks off Thursday; the entire schedule can be found here.
But that’s not all. The Commoner Journal, and its staff, will be live-tweeting from the festival all weekend long. Search for the hashtag #wtf12 on Twitter to see what we’re saying about the festivities, and if you tweet, feel free to share your own observations. Make sure you use the #wtf12 hashtag so everyone can see what you’re saying. After the festival, we’ll compile all the tweets from the weekend into a story for everyone to enjoy.
We look forward to seeing everyone this weekend, for what is arguably one of Vinton County’s biggest weekends!
