Vinton County Airport introduces new event to start season
The Vinton County Airport will kick off the event season with a new event called Ride to the Sky/SOJO Bike Rodeo.
The event, scheduled for June 10, will focus on motorcycles, and airport staff will be assisted by members of Sojourners Care Network of McArthur.
There will be four motorcycle events scheduled for bikers — including slow ride, keg roll, ball and cone course, and a surprise event — and plaques for Best of Show will be awarded in each event. The also will be live music, airplane rides, a variety of foods from the airport shelterhouse, a 50/50 drawing and more.
The event will begin at 11 a.m., and music begins at 1 p.m. The parking/admission fee will be $10 per car or bike.
Primitive-style overnight campsites are available.
Airplane rides will be offered all day for $30 per seat.
