Man arrested in connection with Zaleski home invasion
A McArthur man was arrested Thursday in connection with a May 9 home invasion, assault and robbery, according to a release from the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the release, Margaret Edgel of Zaleski filed a complaint on May 9 stating than an unknown male subject broke into her residence and severely assaulted her before taking her purse, which contained prescription medication and credit cards. Edgel was taken to Grant Medical Center as a result of the assault. She was treated and released.
Thomas Browning, 32, of McArthur was arrested in connection with the incident after an investigation by Sheriff Shawn Justice, Deputy Mike Kemmerling and Deputy Thomas Heaton, according to the release. The sheriff’s office received information that led to the arrest.
Browning will appear in Vinton County Court for a bond hearing on Tuesday.
