Two Wellston men charged with arson after Hamden bar fire

HAMDEN — Two Wellston men were arrested and charged with arson after a fire was allegedly set at Teazers bar in Hamden, Tuesday.
According to information released from the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office, Rickie Lee Ross, 57, and Joshua Lee Ross, 24, both of Wellston were arrested and charged with the arson.
The report states that witnesses saw an individual running from the building and called the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office.
Hamden Police Chief Charles Boyer assisted and detained an individual matching the description given by the witnesses.
The report states that both Hamden and McArthur Fire Departments were on the scene and it was quickly determined that arson was the cause of the fire. The State Fire Marshal was notified of the incident.
After a lengthy investigation by Sheriff Shawn Justice, Investigator Ryan Cain, Sergeant Lydle Cain and Deputy Josh Nickells, the two men were arrested. In addition to arson charges, the men have been charged with complicity to commit arson, tampering with evidence, and felony obstruction. Both men were taken to the South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail and will appear for a bond hearing Thursday.
Several Agencies assisted in concluding the case, including the Hamden Fire Department, McArthur Fire Department, Hamden Police Department, State Fire Marshal’s Office, Wellston Police Department, and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
